Nike’s second-generation fitness-tracker, the Nike+ FuelBand SE, hit Apple’s web store this morning and is now available for purchase. The company showed off the new accessory during a media event back in October.
The SE looks and acts very similar to its predecessor, but adds new colorways in yellow, pink, and red, and support for Bluetooth 4.0. There’s also a few new features like hourly reminders and a handy one-touch clock mode…
From the product description on Apple.com:
“NikeFuel is a single, universal way to measure all kinds of activities—from your morning workout to your big night out. This uniquely designed metric applies to whole-body movement no matter your age, weight, or gender.FuelBand tracks how much, how often, and how intensely you move. So go ahead and set a daily NikeFuel goal for how active you want to be. You’ll receive move reminders for an extra push to get you moving every hour. And monitor the intensity of your workouts with NikeFuel Rate and Nike+ Sessions.”
Of course, the other half of this equation is the Nike+ FuelBand app, which also just received an update adding Nike+ Sessions, Groups, and a refined tracking system that more accurately tracks different types of activities.
While there are a number of connected fitness-trackers available, Apple has a special relationship with Nike. Tim Cook, as many of you may know, has publicly endorsed the FuelBand, and sits on Nike’s board of directors.
If you’re interested in the new FuelBand SE, you can find it in Apple’s web store for $149.95. It’s available in in three sizes and four colors, and ships in 3-5 days. Also check out Nike’snew Move app, which launched last night
